Before I say anything else, let wish those of you, that do celebrate, a happy lunar new year! Here are a few shots from the New Years festival that went on in Little Saigon (Westminster, California). This time of year is amazingly festive for Vietnamese people, and I think it’s even more festive than Christmas. The red color and gold colors, the smells, the sounds, and most importantly, the food are the things that bring this holiday personally back to me year after year. And I hoped to somehow capture that festive magic with these photos.
Last year, my fortune told me to wear red with me everyday or something bad would happen to me. And foolishly, I fell for such superstitions and wore red underwear everyday for three hundred and sixty-five days! I’m going to keep away from those fortunes this year…
So with that, I hope you enjoy them, and I wish you a happy lunar new year again!
